  • What's the freak is the difference?

I went into my local music store today to enquire about ordering a Jackson. Now I know they deal in Japan/Korea made models because thats where I got all my other models from, but when I asked about ordering a USA made model, they said they weren't 100% sure they could get a hold of one for me. However, they did say they could get a hold of USA made Charvel's for me if I wasn't bothered about the change in name. My question is why can they get me USA Charvel's but not USA Jackson's (I thought it was all supposed to be the same company)?

Oh, and if it helps, I live in the UK!

    And on the 8th day,
God kicked back with a beer,
And gave that Jackson one helluva beating!

did they think u were trying to get a custom model made? its possible that they have a thing with the charvel custom shop but not jackson, i get the impression that the two are technically sperate companies now but both owned by fender. I had afriend who wanted ausa model sl2h is it, it took him 11 months to get it which is a bloody long time when its not aq custom model par se, its just made in the usa - i guess they must make them indiidually to the chosen options availiable

Jackson and Charvel are two different product lines and have different dealer requirements.

While many Jackson USA dealers are also Charvel USA dealers, not every Jackson import dealer is authorized to sell Jackson USA models. Usually it is the dealer's choice based on the commitment they want to make to each brand.

      Hope that clears it up!
