  • Just joined....my first post

Hi folks. Been lurking around here for some time, but have never registered. Great forum! I usually hang out on the Anderson and TGP forums as well. Been playing since 1978, mostly electric - rock stuff. My main guitars are Andersons, PRS, and a Strat. Have a nice '71 SF Super Reverb - blackfaced.

I've been trying to help a friend (and my gutar tech) ID an old Jackson...I think an '86. He wants to buy it off of a guy interested in selling it, but neither party knows the value, and obviously - they want a fair deal for both people involved...they are friends as well. I've looked all over the place with no luck in nailing down exactly what it was or what the value is.

Several of the guys on The Gear Page pointed me in your direction for guidance. I'll get the details and maybe shoot them past you.

Thanks for reading. It's nice to be here...finally.

              S/n 3575

Thanks very much for the kind welcome, folks. I've already had a blast here today. Great stuff!!!!!

I put my hands on my original post from TGP. There were some good points brought up by some of the guys that I thought could prove helpful.

In my pokin about, it would appear it's from around '86. S/N 3575. I think part of the mystery comes from:
              1. The guy selling it swears it's all original.
              2. These 'ghost' flames on the top...you have to look at the photos real closely.
              3. Has gold hardware, but a black Floyd
              4. And something like the S/N indicates it should have been made somewhere other than San Dimas....though the plate reads 'San Dimas'.
              http://www.thegearpage.net/board/showthread.php?p=1788463#post1788463

Any advice would be greatly appreciated. I owe my tech a couple of favors and would like to come through if possible.

              Thanks again for your help!

They still used the San Dimas plates for a while after production was moved to the Ontario plant. So it might be original with that plate.

welcome aboard, Terry. Looks like Bret over at TGP has you sorted. He knows his shit (old JCF member, see)

that is a very cool guitar. Never seen Ghost Flames in that colour. Very very cool.
