Well, these 2 guitars are not for me... I'm playing Santa this time and bought today 2 Jackson JS20 for my 2 oldest sons, one is black and the other is jewel blue. So, in 4 weeks we are going to have 2 new members in the Jackson family.
They both had asked me to have their own axe for Xmas and last Friday we went guitar hunting together. At first, I tought getting them one of those cheap Squier Bullet Strats, usually going for 99$canadian+taxes here. They are not bad but the back of the neck was a bit ruff, the intonation was a bit out over the neck and they come in only one color, a blue color that looks a bit dated.
However, for 175$canadian+taxes (I know, it's almost the double) the Jackson JS20 plays very nicely for that price, has no pickguard, comes in 3 cool colors, got a strat tremolo and it has a pointy headstock!!!
For me, I prefered to pay a bit more so at least the kids think the guitar looks cool (you should have seen their face when they saw those hanging on the wall) and that the instrument plays better too. I'm sure it will help them keep interested in learning to play.
Anyway, they also play so good that if EVER my kids decide to quit, I wouldn't mind having them for myself. Put some locking tuners on these and some good PUs and you can get a very decent guitar. Even stock, for 175$canadian you definitely can't go wrong!!!

I'm still at office right now, the jewel blue one is sitting by my desk... The other is on order. They had no black in stock but i should get it by next week. When I will have both I will take pics and post it for sure!!!
