Personally, I think it's up to the players themselves to see it the other way around, and realize why should not they get a beautiful Soloist that can be used to play any type of music, and sound and look great while doing so, and ignore what style people might associate them with when they see the logo on the headstock?

All this marketing crap is for the 15 year olds who want to have the artist sig models.

If I thought a Fender Strat was the best tool in my hands to play palm muted riffs, then I sure as hell wouldn't be playing my SL2H every day of the week anymore, however "bluesy" or old it would make me look.

Charvel was always the more "mainstream" brand. Just remember WHY the first Jackson said "Jackson" on it.

God kicked back with a beer,
And gave that Jackson one helluva beating!

                      That is intersting........

I think that fender bought J/C and has no idea what to do with it - unless the lack of relevant endorsees and decent ads and marketing is all part of their master plan to take over the world :p

It's a blood splatter graphic HH Jackson CS banjo with a Kahler.
I actually own it....here's an old pic of me playing it, it used to be my avatar here:

If Randy or the RR had not taken off it was believed that the Charvel line would not suffer. They used Jackson to protect the Charvel brand. The Rhoads guitars were drastic departures from what the company had been doing up until that point.

I love that axe. Wasn't it used by the 'Hellbillies' on the Hee-Haw Hell' tour?
