  • n00b question! Neck shapes

Someone please explain the "letter" neck shapes to me.

I think it may be a Fender-ism ... but please explain the difference between:
    V-shape
    C-shape
    and I've also seen D-shape I believe.

Then there's the "soft" variant of the above ... what else is there?

All I know is that some necks feel "good" or "not"

I'm too lazy to find the link, but I think Warmoth has it covered on their site.

Okay, so I can assume the 'Clapton' is a V-profile .... what's the difference between C and D then? D is thicker?

C is more of a semi circle shape and the D flatens out a bit in the middle.
One is not really thicker than the other, just shaped differently.
Thickness is determined by the radius cut.
