As for the JJs... someone called, hmmmm? I rock a JJ2.
You can still find them, they're out there. In fact, if anyone sees that dweezil green JJ1 let me know.
As far as the neck shape goes, it's not terribly fat in my opinion. If you're used to playing an acoustic and/or a bass you'll have no problem.
Otherwise, yeah, may take some getting used to if you play those needle necks.
