I got a dk2m a few weeks back and I had an ofr put on and I've been playing that axe more then my dk1. Both very similar necks but my dk2m is slightly thinner at the 1st fret. This guitar is as good as the USA to me,I can't understand why its less then half the price. I might sell my USA and pick up 2 more dk2m's with the $ ,this way I got 3 different finishes and pup combos. I never would buy any Jackson unless it was USA but after playing this axe it seems to be as good as my USA. Overall quality of wood and stuff is less but bridge, pups ,and neck profile are great. Just thought I'd share that.

I've played the imports. Nice guitars. Wish I could've gotten that high quality/low price equation when I first started playing.
You can certainly make an argument that, dollar-for-dollar, the imports may be a better "bang for your buck". Nonetheless, they aren't on a par with the USAs quality and components. Not even close. Sorry.

Hmm... Between quality and components and playability.. If a guitar with less quality components is a better player to me than one that costs several hundred $ more.. I'd go with the one that feels best to me.. Not the one with the most expensive wood/tuners etc.. I would, and I have done it. Just my opinion on the matter."This ain't no Arsenio Hall show, destroy something!"

Some guitars are high-quality regardless of the price tag or name brand, which everyone knows but some people pretend to ignore. I've absolutely had some cheapies that were duds, but most low-cost imports are really getting good...and Japanese guitars have already met and surpassed a fair share of American guitars.
I try to buy unique guitars, so I can't really compare one to another. My DK2M is a great guitar, not just "for the money" but also in terms of workmanship, tone and playability to my USAs...but it's not the *same* as any of them. I have other bolt-on guitars, other alder guitars, other guitars with JB and Jazz pickups. The nicest Jackson I ever owned was a USA KV-2, but despite everything I liked about it, I couldn't get comfortable playing it. My best-sounding Jackson is a USA DR-2 - a budget model by Select Series standards, with its licensed trem and no inlays or binding - which has an ash body and satin finish. The best player? A JDX-94 Concept with a cracked headstock and basswood body.
I find it odd that the MIJ Jacksons are rarely, if ever, compared head-to-head with ESP or Caparison. Both competitors still use their own branded pickups in some models, and are/were equipping Schaller trems that are (based on my own numerous experiences) less reliable than the JT580LP. I think that Jackson needs to go back to including the series name on the headstocks, so that window-shoppers can differentiate a JS or low-end X from a Pro.

No need to be sorry ,I said that in my post. I agree that a USA jackson is a work of art and it just feels solid and very well put together. I just go for playability now and the mij is certainly equal in that respect ,and the pups are seymours. I did have to add 100 for the floyd upgrade but its as good as my USA (playabilty) wise.
