Exactly, you can use it anywhere you want. I think it would be too bright in the bridge for my needs, but board member VitaminG does use a Super 2 in the bridge of one of his guitars and says it's pretty good.

For example... Lots of guys like to use an EMG 85 in the bridge position as well... it's "supposed" to be a neck pup, but sounds killer in the bridge position.
Same goes for the 81... lots of guys will drop them into the neck spot... me included.
It's all about the sound YOU want to achieve.
Understood! I just thought it might be a little too bright in the bridge position but what do i know!!!

I love the Super III pickup in just about everything I have tried it in. My first experience with it was my first Fender HM which these come standard in. Have bough several since then... HM's AND Super III's!!!! I am curious to try a Super II in the neck.

If Toejam's Super II was regular spaced I'd be all over it.

The Super III is great for bright sounding guitars and Floyds. High output but it retains enough clarity to cut through a mix nicely (although different guitars will have different results). I have one in a Jem and it works very nicely.

Come on, you know you want it! If you're using it for a neck pup, it doesn't matter if it's F-spaced or not. It's just been collecting dust since I sold the old "Halford" Warrior to Newc. The X2N was already sold to Jeri awhile ago. And I've already got a double creme Super D/Super 2 setup in my Carvin. It sucks having a bunch of pickups laying around with not enough guitars to put them in now.

Do you have pics of an F-spaced pickup in the neck to see how far the poles are outside the strings? I am a stickler about those kinda things... I know, I know, the sound won't matter much but the visual aspect is what ruins it for me. I am one of those on the bandwagon of making sure I get F-spaced pickups in all my Gibson guitars as they take trem-spacing to line up better than standard spaced.

I can take a pic of my Carvin, but now that I think about it, I'm pretty sure those are standard spacing. I don't have any other guitars with Super Distortions at the moment. The black Super 2 I've got laying around is definitely F-spaced. I'll see if I can line it up with the ones in the Carvin and see if I can notice the difference.

                  Great tone and smooth mids.
Has a nice growl to it.
Go with a TZ or Super 2 if you want something with a bit more high end bite to it.
                  +1 Me too!

I have a Super 3 in one of my Yamaha RGX's and its great. Its really smooth with a scooped mid kinda sound and really tight. I love it for rhythm playing when looking for a Master of Puppets sound. For leads, I still prefer the Evolutions.
I'm not afraid to bleed, but I won't do it for you.
