So, having never owned a V and seriously considering getting one lately I was wondering how comfortable they are to play. The one I've been drooling over is the KV2T which based on other threads here is a pretty nice one. I've tried a couple others out but never for very long - and not very good ones. Sitting down doesn't seem all that great, but what about standing with them for periods of time? How are they to play? Opinions? Any information appreciated.

I love the way a heavy-bodied V hangs on ya, and there's no funky horn between you and the strings.
I recommend going into a store and try a V shaped guitar before you buy. I also recommend a strap when playing seated. I used a low cost Rhoads to experiment when I visited the music store.Tone is like Art: Your opinion is valid. Listen, learn, have fun, draw your own conclusions.

I find V's more comfortable due to playing in the classical position with all my guitars. If that's the case for you, the V won't change much.

Seriously though thanks for all the feedback, it seems pretty much everybody thinks they are great to play so I'm going to do the road trip thing and spend a couple hours playing one. I guess all those years of classical training might pay off after all - now where did I put that darn footstool!!

I have a RR copy and i must say it's all comfortable while sitting and standing. When sitting down i use a crappy strap to fix it so balanced and the radius of neck is perfect that way. I don't know if the lower wing of KV makes it pretty hard to play but the only thing i suffer is the pain on my shoulder after practising for hours sitting down.
IMO just go for it, you like the look, you'll love the tone for sure.

I play my KVX10 sitting and standing. I use a strap slung so my guitars sit pretty high though. I just position the lower horn on the inside of my right leg when sitting. I had this one in a locker at work for a while and several of my friends that play tried it and hated it and couldn't get used to it sitting down. They are used to playing a guitar w/o a strap when seated. Just be sure to have a right angle plug if you try a KVX10 though as the jack is on the inside of the lower horn! What the *&@$ were they smoking when they thought that one up! They're probably still laughing.
