It's not that EZBoard forces you to use this company.

It's mostly that the CafePress company has set up a simple and low cost way to get your E-store up and running, they provide quick production of merch, have the E-store software already set up, and make it VERY easy to add it to your board, take care of shipping and payments etc etc etc ...

As far as I know, you can sell products sourced by your own your own sources if you want. BUT, you then have to setup your own E-store and that can be a pain taking care of all the details.

CafePress makes it quite seamless and easy for the average board owner to use their stores.

Well we could always undertake doing our own merchandise and making the JCF a business.Unfortuneatly this would mean we admins will have to start getting paid out of the sales because I'm sure it would take a great deal of work beyond what we already do. This would cut the profits for the givaways which is what this was intended for. I don't mind throwing a few hours here and there for the site but I'm not fond of spending all my free time ordering stuff, taking payments and shipping on a large scale if I don't have too ... would kinda make me resent this place I think ... WHile I can't see any of the designs I can handle a white t-shirt. Wearing my Suicide Solution Ozzy shirt right now. It only comes in white and wouldn't look as cool in black.

Two of my fave shirts of the late 80's were my Metallica One and the Money Tips Her Scales Again Justice shirt with the skeletal Lady Justice on it. Both white and both awesome. The Lady Justice one came out in black years later but wasn't as cool. Ahh...good times. [img]images/icons/wink.gif[/img]

I think the real reason they can't do it on a black shirt is because they are using digital transfers off an inkjet type printer. There is no white ink in this process. These type of applications also don't hold up well after washing either. I have a buddy of mine whos band used this company for there band's merch store and had lots of problems with fading after just 2 washings. This is why they are now doing "real" silkscreened shirts through my printing company.

And Yes, we can do multi-color on black tees. We do all the wearables for Spector basses, Sadowsky and NS Designs (Ned Steinbergers company). As well as Lloyd from GuitarXpress.com.
