Plenty of great guitar makers out there. Wouldn't cause a ripple at all IMO.

if Jackson did not exist .... who would have bought out Charvel?

I wonder where Jackson would be if Gibson bought Jackson, not Fender? Would there be a Jackson Firebird and a rounded V? Would there be a Bullseye RR that Zakk would be playing? Or a single cut Jackson?
...that taste like tart, lemon yogart

None of the above. If Gibson had bought Jackson, then Jackson would be what Kramer is now; cheapie Korean-made low-end gear sold through MusicYo.

I'd still be playing my Charvel model 3...

              Or I'd buy a G&L

well, in a way Gibson did buy Jackson. They hired Wayne Charvel in the late 80's. They came out with the WRC, SR 71, US1, U2 to compete with Jacksons and other super strats. They were great guitars, but the Gibson faithful snub the concept and I think Jackson threat Gibson to sue?
Reminds me of Fender and the Heartfields.

True, but you fail to realize that many of the great guitar makers COPIED the original ideas Charvel and Jackson introduced. Ever heard of the Super Strat?! So how much longer would it have taken these 'other great makers' to come up with the concept? To say it wouldn't cause a ripple at all means you don't understand the impact this company has had on the guitar industry, and more importantly, music in the first place.

Robert, that Soloist is as close to a Strat as you are to being the next Pope. BIG difference bro, come on...

If there was no Jackson, there would have never been a Charvel import line...

                            I would be playing BCRich...
