Realistically, a Model 6. They can always be had for $600 or less... and when you get it, theres no need to change anything... the stock pickups and JE1200 midboost are amazing!
Imagine, being able to be magically whisked away to... Delaware. Hi... Im in... Delaware...

Funny thing is he never mentioned what features he was looking for other than a Jackson. Does he want a tremolo or a hard tail. Single coils, hums, active or passive. Personally I think an old Model series guitar is a better guitar than a new import Jackson. (and you can a real Floyd in it!)
          Just one more guitar!

Used SLSMG (or a new one if you can snag a leftover with EMG-HZ's) would be my preference.

I played a NOS model 4 recently (literally been in the shop since) and my slsmg blew it out of the water. The model series really are great guitars that I'll someday own, but bang for buck in terms of playability, the modern jackson highend jap fretwork is fantastic. Slsmg, then dk2m for me.

Better yet buy a MIM FR Strat and put a DiMarzio Super Distortion bridge pickup on there and some single coils of your choice. Instant hot rod guitar with cash to spare.

The Jackson DXMGT-BCS Dinky Electric Guitar for about $300 + the Jackson JS30 KV for $250

I'd switch their necks and make a cheap version of the KV2t, which I have twice

DK2 or DK2M, depending on your fingerboard preference (rosewood or maple).
