      Care to explain why?

I have the one with foam covered legs for my RRs. Works great. Here's a lousy pic:

        Bleeding from black holes
        Whom horns careless
        And whom God mourns

Hercules Single GS412B or Double GS 422B. The way to go with V's!

Hercules! And yes, I prefer the one with the fold-out prop as it just feels more secure and the V doesn't tap the corners of the stand.

Definately Hercules all the way man! My best mate works in my local music store so he gave me one of these fresh off their delivery for nothing and it suits my Rhoads perfectly!

I have one Hercules and six wall hangers. The Herc is awsome. I have a white RR24 on order from L+M here in Saskatoon. Who else is getting one??

I've known about Herc stands for about 2 yrs now. I finally picked one up yesterday for my Rhoads.

I bought the single stand, where the bottom of the guitar rests on the padded legs. It does fit, but the height of the stand has a very small window for it to fit right. Too low, the upper wing tip is almost touching the rubber foot, too high and the lower wing hits the plastic slider that the leg support arms connect to (the yellow part) instead of resting on the foam padded leg.

The herc 2 and 3 guitar stands have a padded "T" that sticks out from the main post that pushes on the back of the body. Not resting on the legs itself. I havent found anyone that stocks the 2 and 3, but it looks like it would fit pointies MUCH better than the herc 1 guitar stand. Although the herc 1 guitar stand does work, and is a HUGE improvement over "normal" guitar stands.

Sounds like you got the wrong one, mate. As stated above the GS412B is the (single) one that has the padded "T" which folds out and prevents swinging. http://herculesstands.com/guitars/GS412B.html

I've got three of the suckers now and they rule (plus a GS432B)!

I have one of the Ultimates (I think that's the name) I got from Musicians friend and I'm sorry I bought it for my Rhoads, the Hercules is a much nicer stand. I bought one of their wall hangers and it's great. My only complaint is the mount is sort of a rounded triangle and the walls here were build with such thin pieces of wood that I could only get one screw really mounted in the wood and a second feels like it caught a little (like it hit the corner of the beam) Just enough to hold it. I'd like a version that has two screw top and bottom instead. but that's because of how crappy this house was built no reflection on the hanger, it's great
In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

Yup Sanc, You're right, I got the wrong one, which is the only one that store had in stock.

I think I'll return it, and order a double stand off the net for about $8 more. It really bothers me that so few stores stock these stands. Everyone assumes you want a strat or LP where a "normal" cheapo stand works fine.
