Look at those bevels!!! The left one is ok but the right one is made differently...Just compare and you will see that the right one is lower than the left one.
Isn't that pic shot at an angle? It's very hard to discern whether the bevels are even or not, imho.

    • Are there singlecoil Pickups for the Fernandes Sustainer? they only do humbuckers , don't they.

Does fernandes give their system away to other companies? I think they just use it on their own guitars, giving people a reason to buy them (even though you can buy the system seperatly).

I don't know if Fernandes has an OEM version or not. I'm not sure what that has to do with the topic at hand though.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

        • well, just wanted to state that you probably have to live with the Jackson System and that there is no chance getting the Fernandes (which is cheaper, etc...).

But that is still no reason for Jackson not getting this things not connected right. I think it is kind of poor not to have a final checkup on Custom Guitars, which is max. 20 minutes more work, getting everything checked. It's ok if that happens on a importguitar which is a minimum of the price.
Its really sad to read all this and I got to think twice getting a personal Custom order on the way.

I thought it too first but when I looked it with bigger size I noticed that it´s not the angle...I´m afraid that there are a little bit difference...

            • I think that's the paint - if you look you can see a horizontal ridge coming from the 'point' on the black paint at the left. The black on the right doesn't extend far enough. Still crap though....

              • There are two consumer available Fernandez Sustainer configurations. The Fernandez FSK-401 is for a single coil in the neck position, which would work on the PC1. I'm not sure if the toggle switch spacing is the same though. (RJ might be able to chime in and comment on this. I believe in a previous post, he said the spacing is the same). The toggles are attached to the circuit boards. The FSK-101 kit is for a full size humbucker rout. Both are 9 volt applications. I have the FSK-101 in a Les Paul right now.
Maybe Fernandez could make a 18Volt OEM version for Jackson or others?

The story I heard was that those guitars were not refinished in red - They were released as the 25th Anni King V.....

Yes, Fernandes has single coils. I have a mid-'90s Fernandes AFR-150S, their top of the line. Mahogany body with maple cap, ebony fingerboard, floyd, gold hardware. The sustainer system has two toggles (although the 'fundamental/harmonic toggle is a 3-way vs 2-way on PC-1) and a intensity knob and functions just like the 2003 PC-1 I just got last week.

I also have another Fernandes with a single coil sustainer, don't know the model #, but it says "Sustainer Lite" or something like that on the headstock.

Here's an AFR-70 on ebay for reference:

It is the angle. Look at the left side. You see more of that side of the guitar.

So, the $7000 list 25th anniversary Double RR's are really the refinished Big Reds? This gets better and better.

That's the story I've been told, and I seem to remember they initially used the wrong wood for JCF02, so it would seem to fit....
