  • MONDAY MARCH 19th God Bless Randy Rhoads

Monday marks the 25th anniversary of the passing Randy Rhoads. While this is indeed a sad day I hope everyone can take time to think about Randy and be thankful for the impact he had during his life. I became a fan when the Blizzard of Ozz was released (yeah I am old) and was fortunate enough to see Randy in concert on February 20th 1982 less than a month before he was killed. He was and still is my hero. He was a brilliant musician and most of all he was a great person. If you have not read Rudy Sarzo's book "Off the Rails" I highly recommend it. I read it cover to cover in two days and I have not sat down to read an entire book in a long time.

Randy was a special person. Thank you Randy for the gifts you gave us. We miss you!

I remember the day well.... We were out riding 3-wheelers in the snow and went into the garage to warm-up.... Turned on the radio, they were talking about Randy being killed in an accident ...... They did a 3-song block of Ozzy, I was bummed........

      RIP Randy

Randy has never been an influence on my playing or one of my favorite players, but there is no denying how gifted he was and how many he inspired. Last night I gave "Diary" a spin and was completely blown away by S.A.T.O. and the title track. It's too bad he didn't have a chance to get away from Ozzy and show us what else may have been in there.

Truly a loss for the guitar world. RIP, RR.

Blizzard and Diary will go in my car's CD player Monday.

RIP Randy. Great talent, and a humble person. If only we had the chance to see what more you could've done.

This goes out to the guy who has THE MOST BADASS GUITAR EVER TO BE NAMED AFTER HIM. May your memory never slip from out minds, as the years pass and dwindle.......................
"slappy, slappy" bill sings, happily, as he dick slaps random people on the streets of Cleveland.

Amen...I remember the first time I heard Crazy Train on the radio as a kid, I was immediately sucked into the guitar. From the opening squeal/pick slide I knew this guitarist was something special. Unfortunately I was too young to get to see him in concert, I hope someday a full length video of him live surfaces. That would be awesome to watch...

              Bleeding from black holes
              Whom horns careless
              And whom God mourns

I have to agree with Jimmy B in that Randy wasn't an influence on my playing either, but I really enjoy his style, sound, and songwriting and many times think "what if....". I'm just glad we had the chance to hear him at all and thankful for his impact on all of the guitar world. May he rest in peace.

Randy is my all time fave guitarist without a doubt. He is the reason that I picked up a guitar to begin with so for that reason alone I owe him so much. I actually had a word with my manager at work the other day and asked if they would play my 'Tribute...' CD over the sound system at work to mark the 25th Anniversary. Naturally, they're not exactly rock fans but they could see how much it meant to me so I was quite surprised when they said yes!

God kicked back with a beer,
And gave that Jackson one helluva beating!
