Do the recessed trem vs. non-trem J/C guitars have different neck angles? If so would the difference be in the neck pocket or heel?

Ferinstance, if I had a DKMG and a DKMGT neck could I just cut the neck for a lock nut and have it work right?

Yes.

Yes. Although the locking nut mod would be a tad more complicated than just "cutting the neck".

Just take off the regular nut, and then file down the space where it was with the area just above it (on the headstock) so that a locking nut will fit there. You might want to also make it a bit closer to the 1st fret, since it will be slightly tilted backwards and the intonation would be slightly off otherwise on open strings. Then just shim it to the correct height & you're good to go. Did this on a dkmgt neck and it works great. =)

dont do anything so drastic. There are a lot of DKMG neck with the floyd recess available on eBay. Sell yours and get one of those. Dont destroy your neck! I have been searching for DK2T necks and see some going as high as $350 on eBay lately. So, your non floyd recessed neck should definitely be worth more than a recessed one. But I want to be clear, I am in no way saying a DK2T's neck is the same as a DKMGT's.

I don't actually have one ATM. I just wanted to know what I was getting into if I happened to stumble upon one. I'm actually looking for a piranha-having neck to use in pursuit of my day-dreamed Avenger monstrosity (which I might add I thought up before I ever heard of the RR24 that it looks a lot like), inspired by Dave and Mark's similar adventures. I didn't mention that so as not to encourage any 24-fret on a 22-fret body confusion.
