I want a 3-octave 26.25" scale semi-hollow singlecut. Never seen one but as I understand it that's a no-go at the Jackson custom shop now. Too original I guess ....
Brad, you are mistaken. That is not actually what you want. It says so right there on the form.
I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

The CS can make Gibson body styles they just need to alter them slightly like PRS did with the singlecut. PRS beat Gibsons legal team and it can be done. I dont think id buy a jackson CS or a gibby CS guitar because of the QC issues. My dream machine is a tele with a wide fat neck on it for players with bigger hands but jackson cant do that for me so I will be doing what was suggested here and build my own dream machine when im able to.
Cool thanx,Ive only seen pix from the web showing it and thought it was stupid and pretty large if you ask me. Lawyers must make them do it.
Its a disclaimer isnt it?
consumers are at fault for allowing these companies to greedy and illegally buy their way to copyright/trademark protection.its the same b.s. the I.R.R.A. is doing for music.fact is downloading is not whats hurting music sales selling cds way over value is 15-20 bucks for cds.bs,Fact is recording companies give no talent hacks like nirvana(all the grunge/alternative artists?nu metal?kfed, paris hilton)deals which is a waste of money,Then they put cds most people want out of print. Plain and simple make all out of print cds custom order then you would only have to make the ones that have been orderd and this would put out of business most downloads because most want albums or songs no longer available because the out of print b.s. AS for jackson needs to stop calling their custom shop a custom shop and call it what it truely is a mod shop. A custom shop hamer had the best and true to the definition of what a customshop was. If you dream it they would build it. I would state the oil company greed has taken over jackson, esp, gibson and the rest of the big names. if you want jackson customshop to be a custom shop once more, and gibson to allow other companies to use their body/headstock shapes. THen you have to fight back and protest these companies. We left handers have been illegally discriminated against for ages. and now with the technology the was it is and these companies cant hide behind making left handed guitars/parts/this includes bridges (floyd rose, etc) too expensive. They are still hiding behind it or simply coming out and saying we dont care we wont make left handed guitars. just wait till the day every person whos not a signed artist will have to put up with a set instrument that will have no mods or customshop options because only the artists who are signed will have those.while everybody else is stuck with the crappy (put the crappist brand name beginner guitar here) instruments .The way big business greed has gotten to the instrument manufacturers, this future is not too far off. i would like to know the reasoning behind the no artist replica, inlay bull crap. FACT is there is no artist including steve vai, or vinnie vincent who owns copyrights/trademark rights to their guitars/basses. IF i had the cash i would buy all the major guitar/bass companies and straighten them out, back to making high quality products, and caring and giving what the customers truley want.as for getting permission for trademarked/copyright graphics example tmnt getting that grapic putting on a custom one off is nothing more than free advertising as for a whole line of guitars/basses with the grapic then percentage of profit from the line, and permission would be needed. like back in the old days before these liberal slacker droputs redefined the copyright/trademark laws in favor of the oil company greed. i would love to know how much those dropouts at the copyright/trademarking offices are getting under the table by these greedy companies, and all other companies.sorry but i truely get pissed off when companies stop caring about consumers rights for profits, and when companies abuse certain rights(copyrights/trademark rights) ala gibson to make oil companie profits.
What if I want a totally unique and original BARITONE?That's actually what bugs me most about the list... I can somehow understand all the legal stuff like not copying Gibson shapes, and I'm not going to argue with the no-replicas-rule.But why don't they build baritones anymore? Well at least they seem to still be doing seven-strings...Another question just popped into my mind:Can you get stainless steel frets? I remember reading something about them being hard on tools, but I don't remember the context where I've read that... did it have to do with the Jackson CS?
When I ordered my CS Soloist about 2 years ago Jackson wanted $300 for stainless steel frets That is ridiculous. Jack.

Ever heard of the [enter] key?

The reason I made this list was I had alot of original ideas and was turned down for some stupid reason.
the no sub contractors thing also really killed it too, they would ship the guitar or fretboard to your favorite inlay or paint guy but not anymore.
The legal terminology on guitar body shape says the body has to be 30% different than the original BTW.
I will repost this list so people dont have to find it again.
Updated list:
Official No's:
1. Artist Similar guitars- means you cant place an order exactley like your favorite artist's guitar.
2. Jackson Strat Heads- Was a yes earlier but just for a couple months.
3. Custom Jackson Logos- You can chose any historic Jackson logo but you cant make your own.
4. 21 Fret Charvel necks- was a yes but the capatilizing on the legacy series killed that CS option this year.
5. Custom serial numbers- No using your initials and a number or any other cute ideas you use Jacksons from now on.
6. No similar inlays- Meaning even if the image is not copyrighted and the symbol appeared on another artist or brands guitar its a No.
7. No sub contractors- Lets say you have an inlay guy you want to use Jackson will not ship the guitar to them till it is finished in the past they would accomodate your needs.
8. No buffalo horn inlays- means what it says.
9. Any Copyrighted images
10. No Gibson shapes- Firebird, Explorer
11. No VVVs or Disruptors.
12. No Baritone Scale lengths- They did at one time
13. No offensive graphics- Thanks to our PC friends for helping stamp out the hate being spread by guitar graphics. Must be PC.
14. No Round horn V's- Like the Y2KV or Robin Crosby style Vs.
15. No primer only guitars leave the CS- FMIC wants to make it hard for you to go against there wishes of ordering a guitar with a paint or graphic you want.
16. Jackson camo prints only- I trided explaining camo prints are not copyrighted but its a no go must use Jackson's Cow print.
This thread is a perfect example of why I mostly build (paint/assemble/setup) all of my guitars these days. Fuck Jackson and their so-called "custom shop".
Thank god for folks like Budman Dave, Mojo Denny, the ultra cool folks at Warmoth, and various others. Anything the Jackson "custom shop" can build, I can build....and for about 3K less dough! If I WERE to spend that kind of cash on an instrument, I can promise you Jackson wouldn't be the company getting my dough. They have priced themselves completely out of the market in my opinion. After many many years of supporting CJ, I'm done with them. Fuck 'em all!
(edit:...and I'm sure that's just going to break their fucking hearts!:ROTF
My goal in life is to be the kind of asshole my wife thinks I am.
I can dream it, Musikraft can build it, Paul can paint it, Dave can supply the parts and an unnamed person can provide a killer logo. It's just like the beginning, but with different faces, without an agenda. Foolish Merchandising Interred Charvel- FMIC.
