I'd argue for a slight alteration:

Thanks, Hoss, I was a little off on the david schecter / Lynn ellsworth timeline. I guess David was there first to help make the tooling and templates?? Idid hear that Wayne and David cut 100 bodies in a weekend one time. I build also and thats alot of cutting and choppin to do 100.

thanks for the links, I got educated a bit today.

Business afairs are always full of strange twists.

A lot of times the best business people are not the most talented and vise-versa.

I agree with the time line adds and changes.
I made that prior to the Fender buy of Jackson/Charvel.

This is the early years as I could verify - Please Add and correct.

The pointy headstock didn't appear until the first Jackson guitar, well after Wayne was out of the picture. Remember who designed the pointy, and what it was designed to look like.

The first pointy design Jackson was a Rhoads but it was first a Charvel then it took the Jackson name..
I remember someone here at JCF had the perfect Jackson add

                    "Get The Point Get Jackson"

Who was that?? Someone from the bay area I believe...

No,I didnt work there( wish I did, was 13 in 81). but had been playing guitar since 10. So you can imagine what the line of charvels and RR jacksons and soloists looked like to a kid I was hooked since. Just been brushing up on my charvel history in past couple years. Stories vary from the Grover & Wayne camps. best tip is to gather up knowledge from the various sites/ forms by looking thru old posts that pertain to history. There are a few books out there also. Also develop repoire with edjucated forum members by asking pertaining ???'s and desire to learn more of the correct history of charvel.

do you guys think Grover and waynes camps could work together again maybe start a new brand? Could some one buy the name from fender?

Personally I hope FMIC is able to overcome whatever issue they've had with Jackson. With mostly the same crew building the guitars there really shouldn't be any major issues. And when QC issues don't crop up, the USA Select line are still solid instruments at their current street prices.

I really only question the cost of the true customs. They've put themselves in a price range where you can almost start thinking about things like Driskills and the like. It would be tough for any major or semi-major brand to compete with the artistry and attention to detail some of the little guys demonstrate.
