All of the current Japanese market Charvels appear to be routed like that. Here's a couple of pictures of a crossed swords graphic model C, with a clearer view of the jack.

That thing in the lower left part of the pic looks like a huge gaping anus with a couple of massive roids. "Hey I know! Let's have 'em paint a big infected anus and barbed wire on the guitar! That way NO ONE will ever have another like it!"
