that's why I say, request the guy from Jackson to come back and ask him to participate in one thread. Select a representative from JCF like one of the admins. we'll send all our requests/comments/complaints, etc, to the admin who will make up one neutral, but sensible post and reply to that thread. the jackson guy can then comment. ...which we can all see, but cant reply.

It's not a bad idea, EB. I wouldn't mind that approach, either. But the bottom line is oftentimes, they walked into the room, the lights went out, two guys held them down, and another @ss-raped them. Eventually, you learn to not go back into that room anymore. They're not coming back.
Not to mention that approach would probably be a bit of a hassle for the admins to deal with.

Skorb, my apologies. I went off on you too harshly there.
My point remains the same, though. McD has been nothing but a class act in my few dealings with him. And, like many other issues, folks make automatic assumptions that are just way off base. When that happens often enough, eventually, rumor takes on the veneer of reality.

McD was usually OK but honestly about the only thing I remember him posting was stuff for sale in the classifieds and that fishing trip for artist guitars.I want REAL change. I want dead bodies littering the capitol.

look, I know I'm oversimplifying in what I had said, but frankly the lack of any input from JCMI on this leads to that. and whose fault is that? we have a site here dedicated to how much we love these guitars and the company basically gives us the finger when they hear some things back they don't like. that's childish, especially from a corporation wanting to develop markets and sell shit. do they need some patience and a thick skin for an internet exchange of info and ideas, of course, and that's not everyone's specialty, but they have so severely bungled their PR with a huge number of previously fiercely loyal fans here who wanted to love the company, that it is literally stunning.
they could not have handled the last year in a worse fashion, judging from a brand identity angle and a customer care angle. they have done a terrible job at this. if I were a large position stockholder in this company I would be pissed. I think the brand has been damaged by their disregard for the customer and even the most basic QC.
also, I have limited info on which to make a judgment here, and it leads to a judgment that the person who took over that role at the company is much less interested (like, not) in hearing our input than the previous guy, curt as that guy may have become over time.
left to wonder, as we are, we reach conclusions about this situation that may not favor the company. new person in the role not interested in a captive customer audience, new stunningly high prices for the same old thing, while QC issues continue with what should be perfect guitars.
see what I'm saying bro?the guitar players look damaged - they've been outcasts all their lives

I have a better idea.... how about a forum for porn and stuff like that?"There is nothing more fearful than imagination without taste" - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe

Tim, I remember McD hanging here when FMIC first took over J/C. Like when he helped do the very first (2003) catalog, talked about the new finishes being offered then, new models (the KV2T which, IIRC, he helped spec out the design), NAMM, etc. This was all before there was an "Ask Jackson" area and JW became involved with the JCF at all. McD always seemed like a down-to-earth cool dude, to me.
As to the "fishing trip", IIRC he stated he was pulling together pics for a marketing or catalog effort, something along those lines. But, of course, people assumed nefarious intentions long before he even had a chance to say so.

AfterForever, I contacted Paul Stanley on yours and Jacksons behalf and this was his response. It may not be the answer you wanted to read, but at least Paul is responding:
I'd say you are both dangerously depraved and pathologically
delusional, or the most important mind of the last 50 years. It's
possible that you're all that and more.

John Walker put up with a lot of crap here; I guess he just has thicker skin than Brian. Both are good guys, but Brian's tolerance for the grief that would sometimes get dished out here must have just run out. I doubt many of us would put up with as much as they did.

Honestly you guys really need to think about things a bit.
Has Jackson had issues? Yep
Do they know that? Yep
now with that said think of things from a business point of you. If you are working for JCMI, coming to this forum and not only getting ripped but constantly having you policies and procedures ripped on why wouldn't you distance yourself? It's bad business to get in the middle of the hornets nest.
Some guys here were cool, they could discuss issues in a peaceful constructive manner. Others were simply ones that since AMIC took sold to FMIC were flat out pissed at FMIC for getting the co..they never gave them a chance from the begining and not only were they vocal about things but they were pretty harsh ...
The only thing that I disagree with is the crazy price increases and boutique guitars, but I also understood WHY they happened. Does it mean I'll pay $3500 for a charvel? Nope .. my last charvel is currently on order through Matts ..the white run of 10 because it was pre price increase.. After that my buying days with JCMI are done because I can't substantiate the cost any longer.
Quality issues~ Big and FMIC took it on the chin for it from this forum. Understandable that people want a better product for the money they are spending. What people seemed to forget was that AMIC's quality was as bad and worse than current FMIC/JCMI quality ... but it's in the toilet because it's FMIC ..
Honestly, I'm bummed Brian McD doesn't come around here anymore, he was a great guy. He helped me out when I needed it and he was always pleasant. The dude really cares about Jackson ...He's a fan ..
John W~ Yep sometimes his answers could have been gruff but that happened on both sides of the coin. I still keep in touch with him and he like Brian is a great guy and he had passion for the product
You want a forum just to bitch about Jackson that won't be seen by them? Does that really make a lot of sense? They certainly won't be back under those conditions ...
I worked hard to ressurect the relationship between JCF and JCMI only to see it get destroyed. I have to admit that hurt me a lot because of the time and effort I put in ... Instead of understanding that I was lableled an FMIC kiss-ass .....Wonder why the forum has become a shadow of its former self?
Sorry ..just my thoughts ... not looking to start a shit storm .. it is one of my biggest thorns ..Don't worry - I'll smack her if it comes to that. You do not sell guitars to buy shoes. You skimp on food to buy shoes! ~Mrs Tekky 06-03-08~
