Even as a WRMG owner myself, I would go for the DKMG if faced with the same choice. For a start, it has a strat body, meaning no need for a custom case, and there's less chance of smacking the body against walls or amps (no fins to break off). Secondly, it has an archtop body, making trans-finishes look better, and finally (IMHO of course), strat bodies have a better mid-range quality. My DXMG had a fatter sound than my WRMG, but nooo, I had to have the stabbing guitar didn't I

Jackson DKMG vs ESP LTD MH-400 !!!!!!

I owned a 06 MH-400 and it was a great guitar. It had great access to the upper fretts and great tone. THe heel on my DK2 was thicker so upper access wasn't as great but that doesn't bother me, it's just something else to consider.. I did replace the tremolo with a OFR but I do that to all my non original Floyd guitars. It was a nice guitar but I sold it to help purchase a USA RR1.

I would preferrably go with Jackson. I tried the KH2 vintage and I didn't like it, as well as other LTD's and ESP's(quite a few). I'm not a fan of DXMG's(not DKMG)... DKMG is supposed to be a better guitar. I always wanted to play one, but I never seen one in real life. Right now, I have a KE2 Kelly, which is a great guitar, except that it has some neck heavy problems that you can REALLY only fix with either a strap that digs into your skin, making it bleed or moving the strap button.
This would likely be an issue with the WRMG (ask some people), but I have to agree, the Warriors are killer in looks, especially with slanted pups. I played an older WR1 Warrior Warbird (which I now realize are somewhat rare) back when I first started playing guitar, but of course I can't remember jack about it. I also played a KE3, RR5, RR3 and DK2, but I don't think that any info from those will help you too much. They were all good guitars though.
I would preferably get a guitar that has good playability over something that looks cool. That is my only regret in getting a Kelly over say a DK1 or a Soloist...but I did get it for 1250$ CAD.
If you have chosen Jackson over ESP, check into these guitars:
For the MG SERIES-if you like emg pups.
DKMG
WRMG
DKMGT
The SLSMG is a good guitar, but pricey. Some people prefer the other 3 over that.
For the PRO series-if you like Seymour Duncans.
DK2T
DK2M
DK2-if you like the HSS configuration.
RR3 or KE3 if you like odd shaped guitars.
SL3 Soloist- again, if you like the HSS configuration...
-DK2M(many people say these are GREAT)
I think you said that you tried a JS10 and a V(likely cheap also)? Forget those in all ways, maybe except body shape. The DKMG will have a different shape than the JS10 anyway and play WAY better.
The Soloists are ALL neck thru. The Dinkys are all bolt-on.
-SLSMG,SL2H, SL3, SL1, SL1T, SL2HT, SL2H-MAH -Soloists-neck thru.
-Others are dinkys-bolt on.
-All other USA guitars are neck thru.
-All other guitars not mentioned are bolt on.Last edited by JACKS0NESP; 05-16-2007, 03:53 PM.

No issue at all. Simply put the strap button where the top forward neck screw is located. In other words, the one that would be highest from the floor if you were standing and playing. That was one of the most comfortable guitars I ever owned.Hear the universe scream

Welcome Metalcore, I currently own both the MH-400 and a DKMG. Personally, I would go with the Jackson...I like the archtop carve better, It is more pronounced. The trem on the Jackson is better as well. Like others have said LTD's are hit or miss. Although I got lucky with my MH-400 as it sounds good, I don't know if I would take that chance if I were you (ordering online.) I have never recieved a Jackson that sounded like crap when ordering online, I have recieved them with other flaws but, they always sounded good...I can't say the same for the LTD's.
Honestly, the only thing the MH has on the DKMG is that it's set-thru...and I only say that because I prefer set/neck-thru guitars, obviously that's a matter of opinion.
