why do u have the bottom two strings wrapped over the stoptail bit on the les paul and not the rest ? :S
They are old strings so I wanted to see how it felt when I put them around the stop tail, and only the E and A had enough excess string to be rewound. When I buy new strings, they'll all go around the stoptail.

Sorry, scale length is measured purely between the distance from the nut to the saddles, not by what you do to strings beyond these two contact points. Changing the scale length is probably a modification not even Dr Newcenstein would imagine as it would involve moving the frets themselves.
