The strings even look worn out. :ROTF:

My local shop has one too, 25K is a joke, even though it is a REALLY cool guitar. One thing that had me puzzld though; the tuners lookd brand new where the rest of the guitar looked like it was beat to shit. Did Eddie just have new tuners put on his guitar before the replicas were made?

also, in the close-up of the frets, the frets seem to be pretty good and not-worn out. I dont see any "pitting". As I recall, Eddie replaced the frets on the original himself. Did he use Dunlops or Stainless steel frets?

I don't mind opening the case for people but no one touches it. I've got too much invested to allow the possibility of an accident.

And the tuners don't look brand new in person.

+1. But the main thing that drives me nuts is the old-school wood screw Floyd posts and the Floyd nut going through the neck! There's a reason they started putting in bushings and top-mounting the nut.

So if you were to wash the fretboard or the body, would the detailing come off? Or would it be just like a regular guitar finish?

The original back drilled floyd nut made for a weaker neck joint. You'll see a lot more cracked necks from that than not ..

The wood post bushings wore out easily..case in point..BigRed ..

And if I recall correctly they looked like schallers. I mean they didn't look brand new, but they defintly didn't look as worn as the rest of the guitar. Still real shiny and such. Maybe Eddie replaced them not to long ago?

And about the frets, I read in an interview with the guy that built this, that when he was looking at the original franky he was amazed that there was hardly any fretware, espically considering how hard ed plays he said.
