Got my Black Cherry baby back today For those who may not know. . it had a paint defect in the headstock. So couple emails here and there & phone calls to Fender Customer Service and I sent it back to the CS.. . . it only took a month (see pix. . black arrows). I dropped it off at the Music store on 6/1/07 and it left the CS on 7/3/07.
So I would like to thank all you guys who persisted for me to get it repaired and send it back,I heard all these horror stories about long "lead times" etc. I did write FMIC a letter to let them know how I felt (posted in here), and less than 2 weeks later I have it back.
Well im very happy and its perfect, What I did notice and you may too is the logo is smaller than the orignal one and more vivid gold. Also its the orignal neck, which I wanted to keep. The neck looks awesome and they oiled it and buffed the frets too.

I've seen a couple with that flaw. Glad you got it back looking nice...

Your right, the logo does look smaller now...

Bengal: Looks like possibly and hoping its the smaller CS logo. It measures app 1 7/8. The orignal logo went from "A" tuner all the way to the "B" tuner, look how much smaller this is.The new logo is downsized and only reaches the end of the "G" tuner,were as the orignal one went all the way to the "B"

Sweet, Thank You very much Alvin: I put the gold tuners on,as well as brass volume knob, and brass Pup ring, I also bought a new gold switch.. . .they were all black stock.

This thing is a MF'er to photograph, its more black/purpl/ maroon, yet looks like Kandy when in sun or using flash.. .in low light looks brownish (tootsie roll color)

ps:I did alittle something, I couldnt get the nut for the 3 way toggle very tight that I installed,so I left it kinda loose to see if the CS would tighten it.Well, not only did they tighten it, they put a black (felt like) washer on it so the metal washer doesnt scratch the paint. (I didnt have one before)I thought that was kinda cool.
