The Jackson is a PS-3T (most people mistake the script as saying PS-37 which is usually listed on the truss rod cover)

The Charvel is a modified Model 2. (the locking nut is missing)

The locking nut is missing. Are there sperzels on it? Otherwise you're going to have a hell of a time keeping it in tune if you use the tremolo.

Oh, if you paid that price for that Jackson, you got screwed. Because it's not an RR3, nor is it a "CS".

I believe the charvel is a mixture of parts. (mutt) Not only is the locking nut missing, it was never there, which tells me the neck has been replaced.

Also, being that the headstock says "performer", I'd agree with you saying the jackson is a performer. :ROTF:

I have to disagree with your assessment.

If you look at the picture of the headstock, you'll see one of the holes for the locking nut. The truss-rod cover has been replaced. The only guitars without locking nuts had maple fretboards. (Model 1 and variants and the Model 7)

                    +1

you can see one of the drill holes for the old, shorter truss rod cover on the top edge of the existing truss rod cover. It suggests that it had previously had the shorter cover with the Kahler nut. Removing the truss rod cover should show more.

great discount on it though! List was $499.99, but now it's only $499.99!

I was going to hazard a guess that the CS may have stood for Crimson Swirl, although it is clearly Trans Red, it may have been a simple mistake. (although, given that they thought it was an RR3, it must be a Custom Shop variation since it doesn't match the RR3 on Jackson's site )

now that you've removed the truss rod cover, you can see the holes left by the old behind-the-nut lock.

You can pick up a replacement truss rod cover & many of the parts at http://www.fretsonthenet.com
or you can source a complete nut on ebay
