Ok, so I'm not quite getting how the Sustainer works. I always thought that it only acted as a driver, but there's a five way selector on the DK2S, making me think that the sustainer also acts as a regular pickup. What's the deal with that?

Also, why isn't it available on musiciansfriend or zzsounds? It says the product has been discontinued.

Yes, the sustainiac pickup acts as a neck pickup, too, even without a battery (iirc) ... only when the toggle is clicked to the "on" position does the sustainer work.

Not sure about the MF/ZZ part.

Yes... the driver is also a pickup.
As for it being discontinued... who knows.
MF and ZZ may have decided not to carry it.

I a tried a used one in GC, and believe it or not, the neck pick up sounded beefy!( I was only using high gain), It was fun playing with the sustaniac esp in combo with the floyd.

Assuming its the same device in the guitar you are talking about, it should work the same. Sound depends on a lot of things like your pick, strings, amp, effects, etc.
