In the last two days I received both the Musician's Friend Buried Treasure sale catalog and the Guitar Center43rd anniversary catalog, and there are no Jackson in either of them. What gives? Could Fender be discontinuing the Jackson brand?

Jackson still sells a lit of units for Musicians friend I wager. The DKMG and RR3 are on page 4 of their guitar top sellers list. Guitar center here keeps a lot of Jacksons in stock. I doubt they are being dropped. But since Jackson hasn't come out with anything new or exciting, they aren't being mentioned in the ads.

No way. Jackson is an icon in rock n roll. MF's current catalog shows 3 BC Rich models, but look on their site and they have a load of different models. It's always been that way. Look at the Gibson section. It's huge. Years ago it was next to nill.

I heard not only is Fender dropping Jackson, they plan on doing a new thing where they go to Jackson owners homes homes and punch their babys in the face.In the future though I need to remember to not buy guitars while on Nyquil

OK so there's some alarmist views here. But...I have noticed that "USA Select Series" has slowly been replaced by "Select Series" on their site. Comments?_________________________________________________

Who still plays Fender? Malmsteen? If we're all on a Jackson forum then I'm asuming the majority of our musical taste and none of those guys play Fenders except maybe Dave Murray. I think it's just MF being MF trying to sell guitars. It is my belief that Jackson doesn't need to be advertised like other brands. Before I got my first Jackson I had always heard of the sweet low action of Jackson necks. I personally enjoy playing with an extremly low action. Thus I bought a KVX10 to try it out and of course it was great, so I bought another one. I didn't need MF telling me about it in a catalog. Reputation has sold me all my guitars and has also made me sell some of them.
