I am glad someone picked up that reference...I wasn't sure it would go over well in text. :-)

From my experience, if the string is big enough for the low tuning, it wont get muddy.

If the string guage AND scale length are appropriate the thing will sound fine. That being said I personally don't see the point of that many strings unless you are doing some wild 2-handed stuff trying to be a piano player.

              8 string Ibanez?
              Absolutely useless for me

Nah... we were just ignoring it

Why not just have seven strings and tune them lower?
I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.

IMO, seven strings is pushing it, eight is just silly.

Coming soon! Jackson to release a 19 string model. The Jackson Sitar!

Hm how about having High A on 1st string and then Low B on 8th string? You can play Fear Factory rhythm & Uli Jon Roth solo in one guitar!

                      Jackson Sitar lol

I'd dig having a Jackson Custom 8 string! I'm sure they could make one without much extra effort. All the hardware and pickups are readily available now.

I'm making it in Japan - it's his signature model, just an 8 string variation. The trouble is finding a good bridge right now...

Wohaa, can´t wait to see that!
8 strings may seem stupid to many, but I´m a major Meshuggah-fan so to me it all makes perfectly sense
