Jackson rr3 custom shop question

Im a newbie and wantedto know if you could have a rr3 custom built for about the same price as a regular one cost in the stores? Or can you not get a custom rr made.Help

An rr3 is an import. You'd get an RR custom shop, but it would be 2-3 times as much as you'd pay for a USA RR1 in the stores. Of course, you'd get it spec'd out the way you want. An rr3 has a bolt-on neck, and if you go with a bolt-on custom shop, you'll pay a lot less.

If you wanted an RR body in a colour already on the import list and the neck off another 22 fret guitar, you could do it yourself. The remaining mod would depend on what controls you want. You just have to dril the control plate and wire up the electrics. The difference between that and a real custom is the waiting time (and probably cost too).
