Where do I find out what that is? Its a Charvel, early 80's.

    My guess is 1988.
I am assuming it is a Guitar logoed neck-thru

It's most likely an '88 Model 5 or Model 6, but a few of the early 750XLs had C8xxxxx serial #s. Not sure about the early 650 or 550, but it wouldn't surprise me. Bottom line, you can't tell the model by the serial #. Describe the axe & we'll ID it, or just look through the scans & find a match.

-edit- just saw your post in the other thread where you say it's HSS. '88 Model 6.

Did Jackson ever make any set-neck guitars?

The 750XL and the Archtop Soloist Pro, but the heels are shaped just like a neckthrough. I'm sure he's talking about a neckthrough, though. Loads of people call neckthroughs set neck, especially on other boards. I don't even bother trying to explain it any more.

BTW, who told you it was early 80s? Sounds like the seller is trying to claim it's a USA model. Charvel Model models were all made in Japan between 1986 - 1988.

                      If it's HSS then it's either a Model 6 or, less likely, a 650XL
