He says the show itself is completely over the top... I can't wait to see it!
Tell that BS to Mikey, sam, his fans who want to sell a striped guitar on ebay and anyone else who he has screwed over the years.

One of the things mentioned to me is that Ed actually feels like *he's* the one who's been screwed over the years. Some here may know the actual facts behind this but Ed feels he invented the Floyd Rose design as well as the Sustainer. Both were patented without his permission?

As far as my friend Chris goes... 7 years ago he was working at Fidelity in NH and he tech'd for some local bands. He went out with my band when we opened for Maiden on some dates and after plugging away at it for a bit he landed a gig with Soil. After a few Ozzfest tours he got hired for Michael Bolton's band and then Tom Scholz's tech in Boston. He's been doing the Boston gig for 2 years and got the VH call out of the blue.

ed invented the floyd rose like im halle berrys baby daddy. he couldnt even hook up a pickup, but he invented the sustainer??? everyone here has seen the frankenstrat and the huge crooked routs he put in it. yeah, hes capable of working in tolerences of 1000th of an inch. hes delusional if he really believes the crap he spouts about that. he may play guitar like a god, but imo hes an all around dickhead dickhead dickhead...check it out! hope your buds gig works out.

I always thought that EVH was involved with the design of the FR's fine tuners, had no idea about the Sustainer though.

Randy said he would cop Ed's licks to "stay current."

no randy said he would lean evh licks because his student's wanted to know them

I never understood EVH's problem with people copying his Frank, the 5150 or even the EB. (IMO the Peavey was just plain ugly) He made his nickle off those guitars 10/15/20 years ago. Get over it.

And if someone wants to copy my guitar in 20 years, I'll be more than happy to help them. Not piss on them.

Isn't it suppose to be about the music in the first place?

Note to self Ed: 1) Stay sober 2) Don't be-freind Dave 3) Don't piss on your customers (We're all your customers) 4) Tell Fender to relax and write some dam music.
                      Turn that Sh......... down!

All well and good, but that's no excuse for the way
the VH camp has treated Mike. Kick the guy out
of the band if you don't like him, sure, happens all
the time. But trying to remove his pictures from
album covers and take his name off publishing credits?
You'd think Mike was the one who gave Valerie her
                          fat pills!

All kidding aside, I hope Ed can make this happen.
His personal life and dealing with people is bullshit,
but the man's an iconic figure in rock music and
deserves to be making killer music whatever you
                          opinion of him may be...

So does anyone here know if there's any truth to the Floyd and Sustainer comments?

I could have sworn in one of the recent Ed video clips that someone posted in the last month or so (either the one about the Frankie replicas or the one dissing Randy) that Ed mentioned designing the tremelo with Floyd Rose way back when.
