Eddie is a fuckin idiot, he didnt invent a single fuckin thing he says he did.

the year Van Halen II came out, Steve Lynch wrote a book about 8 Fingered tapping!

also the first Floyd Rose ever was built on a les paul, and the second one was just a modded vintage trem.

The sustainer wasnt his fuckin Idea either.

I guess he NEEDS it nowadays because his shaky fuckin rehab hands cant quite hold on long enough.

he invented the use of harmonics too didnt he?

pretty much Fuck Ed, he wasnt near as great as he thinks, and he is just a complete fuckin idiot.

Alex should kick Ed's ass and tell him whats up, cuz that fuckin Moron (Ed) clearly is having a bad year.

I don't know abou tthe sustainer but there are lots of stories out on the internet documenting the development of the Floyd Rose Trem.

            Did Ed invent this?

            I doubt it

I think his words are a little far fetched but I beleive he was speaking of the early Kramer days when he and Floyd were working together on the fine tuners and their placement. The proto-type Floyd with the fine tuners in their current day position was mounted to Frankie for a period of time.

At the time Kramer had the exclusive on the Floyd and Eddie. If you think Eddie had no say in the Floyd or in Kramer you're mistaken.

Judging by Ed's passed behavior, I'm a bit skeptical...

It's great your buddy is having a good time. But I must say, there is a reason Ed doesn't have a "numero uno". Hopefully your friend will never find out why...
There was a thread at Metal Sludge last week about Ed's guitar tech quitting that had a link to a thread on a board the guy frequented. People were asking him questions about Ed's rig and then he answered the last question.

Then he said he was done as Ed's tech and that he had nothing nice to say about Ed. The thread went on for a few pages as people tried to get more dirt out of him, which he didn't say. But it sounded like the guy had been with him from before the 2004 tour at least.

So Matt, hopefully your friend has a long honeymoon with Ed. I'm sure he wants to bond with him as much as he can, but I'd take Ed's version of events with a grain of salt. He's said a lot of shit over the years that was pure bullshit.

I gaurantee there will be a confidentiality agreement he has to sign. There is no way EVH will let a tech legally share his secrets with his fans. If the tech starts saying things here or wherever online the EVH legal team will silence him I gaurantee that !!..

After reading a few of these posts, you would think that between inventing musical parts and making great music, he was balling the shit out of some of your girlfriends.

Matt, no tour dirt since the tour started, what's the scoop? I hope your buddy wasn't responsible for the Jump, 1/2 step out of tune fiasco that's floating around the 'net?

I saw them last night in Boston, over all a great show, Dave sounded great, Eddie was Eddie, nothing really new to say wow, but what he did, he did great!
Wolfgang did a solid job also.

One thing though, it sounded to me like the I'LL WAIT keyboard track got messed up a little, but then got cleared up by mid song.
Kind of sounded like there was a second track that started underneath, but what do I know.
I don't know who's job that is, but he may not be there for much longer.

Also, (so I guess it makes two things) Dave's mic kept distorting, he was switching between mics, at one point I saw two on mic stands in the corner of the stage and one Dave was using and he kept switching.

Overall, a good show and I'd go back.
