  • Have Fender gone nuts or is this bullshit?

Just got a call from a small local retailer saying Fender will only send Jackson gigbags to the UK, no hardshell cases. <Sniff> I smell a rat (and I'm not talking about the severed head lovingly left on my porch by one of two cats either).
    Fuck ebay, fuck paypal

Anything's posssible. But it sure sounds to me more like like your small local retailer either a) has a lot of Jackson gig bags in stock and doesn't want to go to the trouble of special ordering just a case or b) would prefer that you buy some other brand HSC that he just happens to have a lot of in stock, anyway. I'm sure you've got other options (Ebay, other retailers, other case manufacturers, etc) anyway.

Seems a bit unlikely to me. They'll get loads of complaints from people surely?

It may be a shipping cost issue.

Your problem may be with GC, not Jackson. I recently went through something similar with them. And, the whole time my item was backordered, GC's BS website always had it listed as "in stock".

I'll try another retailer and see what the response is. Can't imagine getting a JCC202 before the end of the month, which is when I'll need it.

Unfortunately some retailers are unable to buy one-piece items due to how their shipping accounts work, so they wait until they get a large enough order to justify the expense.

Plus, shipping is cheaper for them to order a lot in one shipment than in a small shipment.

I think its all those mega online retailers that are related, GC, MF, Music123, etc., that can't get these soloist/dinky cases in stock.

I've got the Jackson rep coming into the shop in the morning. I'll find out if Fender UK/Europe are carrying stock at the moment.
