Best way to tell if the neck is replaced is to pull it and look for a woodburn Jackson logo... some of the woodburn necks did come with a Jackson headstock logo... However, the tuners on your guitar are wrong for '89 so it may be a replacement neck. I have an '89 custom Strathead and it's a dinky as well.

I've had the neck off and it's not a woodburn neck. It's got that rubber-stamped block for production info on the neck, however. The work order number on the neck does not match the one on the body. So it's a mutt but I'll keep her.

For "AS" you ar reffering to Adrian Smith??? Even tho I would dick for that one (is my fav guitar) I just don't get why they would do that. He has been playing Fender strats now a days. The only way that I figure it could be true is that since next year they will be making the Somewhere Back in Time tour, he might be playing with a Jackson for that tour.

AS loves Jackson's actually. He has a doubleneck soloist wich you can see in the interior of the "A matter of life and death" album. I have the orginal album just like this one. I circled the picture for you to see it.

Just love the way the slightly worn neck matches up with the copperhead body.
