  • MOP or MOTO?

Here is pictures of three of my Jackson/charvels. take a look at the inlays and tell me what you think. Are they MOTO or MOP? One of them doesn't look like what it is supposed to be to me. I don't want to influence anyone so I will leave it at that.

They all look MOP to me in these pics. What guitars are they? Do you have more pics of the one in question?

Maybe the 3rd one looks the least like MOP, but not all inlays shine the same from the same angle, you know.

I didn't want to say what they are because to me 2 are in question and I don't want anyone to use their knowledge or the catalogs.
I will say this 2 are Jackson dinkys from the 90's. One should be Moto the other MOP, but they look the same to me.

The first and last are MOP, the middle is MOTO.

The only thing I can say for sure, is that none look like the MOTO we see on todays imports. #1 is clearly MOP. I'd say the other 2 look like MOP as well, but with less pronounced grain.

Try pics from other angles. The pics you've posted make them all look like MOP.

That's what I think as well. There's also a lot of black filler around the inlays in the middle one.

                  Picture 1 is a 86 model 6
2 is a 93 dinky xl which says MOP in the catalog
3 is a 96 dinky dx1 which doesn't say anything about the import inlays.
the 2 dinkys look the same to me but I have heard on the board that MOP stoped in 95.

I tap lightly on the inlay with and allen wrench or something metal. MOP will sound bright and solid, like glass. MOTO will just sound flat and dull.

Oh, and I know what MOTO "is", but what does it stand for?
