    3 way toggles for me. A 5 way blade is great on guitars with 3 pickups though.

      Seems like another split decision among our JCFers as tastes and preferences play a big role in this one!

      IMHO: I prefer the toggle because: It looks cooler. It is easirer to install. You can switch the toggle faster.......But somehow I've seen more intermittent and dirty contact issues with toggles.

        No, the toggle doesn't look cooler! My switch can beat your switch to a bloody pulp!

            Thats one thing Ill give the blade over the toggle, it is more consistant. Ive had more contact problems with the toggle, but its cool looks, ease of installation and use offset that big time.

                  Either one for me, but a 3-way blade can be easily swapped out for a 5-way, either standard of Jackson Special (or other switch with 5 independant positions), which opens up far more wiring options.

                  Both a 3-way toggle and 3-way blade only have two separate connections, with the center position being a bridge between the two. Except in those rare cases of a 3-connection switch, all you can get is 1, 1+2, 2 on either switch.

                  That's a bit limiting, IMO, and adding push/pull knobs for extra options reduces your speed, and there's always the risk of pulling the knob off, or ripping the shaft completely out.

                  The toggle does hold an edge in that you can angle it to suit your style, whereas you have to adapt your style to suit a blade's angle.

                  Hardest one so far has been a rotary knob. It's easy to miss your target, and easy to forget which way to turn the knob.

                    It's funny, I just bought a PS4 that the owner had replaced the blade with a toggle (and took out the middle pickup) I'm going to rereplace with a blade because to me it's more forgiving of clumsy movements in going from Neck to Bridge, of course to get the middle 3 positions you have to be more carefull but I only use those for mellow songs, when I'm not spazzing out:

                    Blade = Spaz friendly!

                      with a blade you are less likely to switch it by accident.

                        I really dug the 3 mini switches on my old Model 6. I've got a Dinky body project in the works where the blade slot is going to be filled in and I'll have the 3 switches in place.

                        As far as blade vs. toggle, I do fine with both, but I prefer the toggle.

                            3 minis is ok, but if you want to adjust them for a steeper angle, that can present a problem.

                            Plus if you want to flip all 3 at once (2 on 1 off, etc), you can seriously hurt yourself

                              Blade or 3 miniswitches for me, but I can usually live with whatever the guitar had installed

                                I like the toggle. To me the blade is cheap IMO. I don't need three pickups.
