I have come close to modifying it by cutting the slot for the 5-way switch and installing one, but I can't bring myself to do it.

I have thought about that too, but I would still have to ream out a bigger hole for the larger 3-way toggle switch. Plus, the Soloist has 3 pickups (a hum & 2 singles) so I don't think the 3-way would do me any good.

Yea, the Volume knob, I sometimes turn it down accidently when picking. Jack.

I hate the fact that mine was stolen! Just a Japanese Dinky reverse headstock (in blue), but I had installed a built in Roland GK-2A pickup on it. And now it's gone...

HATE it, but I don't LIKE it. Black hardware looks better on any Jackson IMO.

I hate how fragile the tip of the headstock is. I am also not a big fan of "oiled" fretboards on maple boards. Since I am a big maple fretboard fan, my only Jackson with a maple board has that oil finish all over it. I may satin finish it someday. Keep in mind I don't mind the rear of the neck having that finish, just the fretboard bothers me.

I wish mine had the three-way toggle instead of the blade switch. Actually, when I had my Model 6, I really loved the three on/off switches!! And I never had a problem with hitting the volume knob and love how it's close by.

I also prefer black hardware. Gold looks nice but tarnishes too quick. Regular chrome looks okay on certain models, but the gray-looking brushed chrome looks like ass!!

Hey Rodrigo, what are you tuned to, and what guage strings are you using, because if youre using 9's, or 10's, and tuned B, C, even D maybe your strings can flop around, just because of less tension. If you're tuned to E with 12's on, well I can't help you then. I also think the volume knob was placed so close to your hand was because you can do alot of cool stuff with i.e. Use a chorus effect or univibe and strum open chords and let them ring and do volume swells Yes you have to be careful, but hey is it going to kill you, no. The only thing that I hate about Jacksons is the CANADIAN price tag for em, eh! 3000$ for a graphic soloist

It's not a big problem, but I wish my KV4 had one volumeknob for each of the hums. I like to use the bridge for all the distortion parts, and neck with the volume rolled back a little on the clean. In alot of songs there's not enough time to change pickup AND roll bak the volume... Would be easier just flicking the switch.
