Re: What do you hate about your Jackson?

I don't hate it biut the fact my kelly dives pisses me off. It's gotten better now i'm taller but still.
Hey since you guys over Europe are paying the big bucks for guitars, would any of you happen to want my Charvel shipped for just US$2500.. I mean come on!... that's cheap for UK standards, isn't it!..
<font size="2" face="Verdana, Helvetica, sans-serif">You may laugh but pretty much. Ive seen japanese charvels costing around $1800-1900 here

Try a wide leather strap, bro. That should cure your nosediving problem.

the high E string on my soloist sometimes "slip away" when I play legato's licks.

not a big problem anyway...

I know what you mean when you say your kelly dives. If you look at a usa kelly the rear strap button is located higer up the back. Try relocating or just putting another button on.
Really? well screw Mark Twain.

After lurking here for months, I actually feel I can contribute this time...
I have a Kelly that also neck dives and the top portion leans away when you are playing. I have tried many different locations for the strap buttons. The best compromise IMO is to move the button on the back to the side of the body, just like on the ESP explorers. It stopped it from leaning forward, and now it neck dives slowly. I fixed that by using a leather strap.

which one?...lol...most of mine are pretty close to perfect for me, but then again the only 2 stock ones i own are the kelly and the re-ish (gotm) which did ship wiyh a faulty 3-way switch, but jackson sent me a brand new switch that arrived in 4 days and offered to pay to have it replaced...i didn't have to pay to have it done, but i really appreciated the gesture...d.m.

Re: What do you hate about your Jackson?

I didn't have a problem with my Professional Kelly XLR nosediving, but the body did tilt forward out from my stomach. I just used to put the bottom of the strap around the front of the body to pull it in closer, and that seemed to work.

As far as the E strings coming off the fretboard while playing legato runs, etc., I think working on better technique would help (hammering on and pulling off straight up to help prevent pulling the string sideways and off the board). Just a little thought.

Re: What do you hate about your Jackson?

Well, since i don't have a Jackson, i'll complain about my Ibanez guitars ^.^ k?

My GRX20 is almost perfect, except for the medium frets, and this one spot on the back that's a lighter color than the rest of the wood, because i decided to tear off the sticker that says "made in Korea" 2 years after i bought it lol. *thinks* And my pickguard is all scratched up from me being a beginner and using an extra heavy pick, and swiping it against the bottom as i played. And i let a friend borrow my trem arm, but then he moved away, and forgot to give it back, so now i have a GRX20 that doesn't fit generic arms. Oh, and the fingerboard is still discolored from the SOS Pad

My RG250DX has a slight singlecoil hum to it. That's to be expected lol. Annnnnnd the logo is starting to chip off of the headstock I think i'm gonna have to clear coat that. Oh, and the Low-Trs says Low-Pro Edge on it, and it sucks ass. *thinks* hmmmmmmmmm. I guess i love everything else about it Oh wait, i forgot the fact that it's made of basswood, which somehow made it heavier than my actual Bass o.O

I love my bass Except for a few paint chips on the heal, where i fell into the woodstove after Ryann knocked into me, some burn marks where the sparks flew out, and a smoky part where my hand rubs, It's flawless ^.^

What do you call an Ibanez RG model without a pickguard? A TOTAL ripoff of the Jackson Dinky

Well if i can find a mirror pickguard, or a white one, i'm gonna get that one to replace the scratched one lol. And what's wrong with guitars that are made in Korea? The only things wrong with my guitars are what Ryann or I have done to them lol. But the damage just makes them more mine, than anyone else's.

Nothing wrong with guitars made in Korea. As long as it sounds good and plays well to you, that's all that matters.
My Ibanez 7-string (Japan) is a nice player, but the basswood does make it a little heavy, and I think it's a weird sounding tone wood... the guitar is in standard tuning BEADGBE, but for some reason the notes sound a little higher and brighter than my other guitars, yet it's in tune and intonated correctly, the strings match the pitch with all my other guitars. Does this sound strange? I don't know if I make any sense! LOL
