      I wouldn't say he went unnoticed. If I remember correctly, he actually caused quite a stir when Ozzy's first 2 solo albums came out. His technique and choice of scales were not "the norm", let's say, for that time. To me, he sort of bridged the gap between EVH and Yngwie.

        You remember correctly. When Blizzard hit the streets, Randy was widely regarded as the new guitar god. I stopped in the Hollywood GC while on vacation with my folks from MN in 1985. A dude heard my accent and asked who the MN guitarists liked more, Randy or Ed. I said all but one of my guitar playing friends preferred RR. He said it was the same out here.

        *The previous story was only shared to prove a point, let's not get into the who's better debate or restart the why oh why does everyone hate on Ed. I don't hate Ed.
