I made a few of these pickguards/truss covers and wanted to know what some of you thought about them. I used some steel wool to give it that "used" look. The pinstriping is also added, got it from a auto parts store. It's adhesive and comes right off.

That guitar looks brilliant, I dont understand the comments here. So you didn't spell the guys name right, but you managed to make a standard guitar look like something very different and very cool. Three replies, only one even bothers to mention your guitar and the other is derogatory without being constructive in any way whatsoever?
I think it looks fantastic. Why put it back to stock, when every Tom, Dick and KBRR has a stock RR model?
Fucking nice job. I'd like to do the striping in red myself if I knew how.Last edited by MartinBarre; 12-14-2007, 05:14 PM.

I did mention I was nitpicking.
However, a large part of this forum is about education. Can't get more grass-roots educational than spelling the model of the guitar you're trying to talk about correctly.
It's just a pet peeve of many on this forum. Some may even go as far as to take it as a slant against Randy Rhoads himself.Occupy JCF

Not everyone buys a RR model because of Randy Rhoads - some people just like the design, or maybe they saw someone else like Dan Spitz playing it.
I think it's pretty poor when a guy puts so much work into a project and asks for comments and all he gets is advice on how to spell, especially when it really does look good.
Maybe Nev will get into Randy Rhoads as a result of his guitars and this forum - I am. Who cares how he spells the name?

Point taken, I have made the corrections. Jesus...lighten up.
Thanks for the comments on the guitar. I knew that it wouldn't appeal to everyone. Like the previous post mentioned, I wanted it to be different than every other RHOADS out there. I cut it to the exact specs of the original cover. ADMIN EDIT: only sponsoring dealers may offer products/services to the board.
