Has the spelling of "Tremolo" evolved over time, or did the old Charvel guys get it wrong?

Both tremelo and tremolo are incorrect. Technically, those are vibrato units.

The correct spelling is tremolo - as anyone with a past in musical theory should be able to tell you. The word comes from italian (the mother language of music), and can be traced back to Latin.
The way you pronounce "tremolo" in english (american english in particular), it might as well be written "tremelo", or "tremalo". It sounds the same, and that's why people consistantly misspell it.Comment
