Doesn't work that way... if the insurance company pays to replace the guitar, they take ownership of the damaged guitar.

If they pay to repair it, you get the repair covered and now have a devalued guitar.
In most cases, they will not cover loss of value. Especially if said value is too subjective.

Actually when I broke the head of my washburn Dime V-Pro, the insurance refunded me the amount I paid for it (new), that's to say about 1000€. And I kept the guitar, fixed the headstock and now I'm still riffin it ^^
