To celebrate a quarter-century of fantastic instruments and innovation, the Jackson Custom Shop is very proud indeed to introduce a special 25-instrument limited-edition run of its King V guitar.

This guitar must be seen—and played—to be believed. It’s as if they’ve gone back 25 years to bring you an incredible instrument with vintage-correct specifications—built to the original shape and full size of the original “Double Rhoads”-size King V. The instrument is hand-signed by Jackson Custom Shop Senior Master Builder Mike Shannon and Jackson Production Manager Tim Wilson.

The 25th Anniversary King V comes in majestic Mercedes Silver, with Ivoroid neck and headstock binding. It too features a gloss polyester-finish poplar body with a three-piece, 22-fret maple neck featuring an ebony fingerboard with sharkfin inlays and ’80s logo headstock decal, plus black hardware and Gotoh® sealed die-cast tuners. Its sound roars forth from a Seymour Duncan® TB-4 bridge pickup and SH2n neck pickup, and the guitar features a Floyd Rose® Original bridge and R3 nut. Hardshell case and COA included!

So why not call them Double Rhoads instead of King Vs then, strange.

The King V is smaller, ergo, it's not a Double Rhoads....
Popular is not the same as good
Rare is not the same as valuable
Worth is what someone will pay, not what you want to get

It's called a double rhoads, becuase the points are as long a the long point on a Rhoads. So it's a really big V!

mainly because the double rhoads was eventually called the king v in honor of robbin "king" crosby, who was the highest profile user of that model.

Dave Linsk's name comes up a lot when there's talk of the Double Rhoads.

Guitarist for Overkill. I understand he originally spec'ed out the first "double Rhoads", and Crosby saw one and wanted one too. Hey, I'm not trying to take anything away from Crosby, because he's still "the man" as far as I'm concerned.
