Doesn't that kinda look like the original "student" model offering?

It looks like a Concept, but they changed hardware and pickups.
Looks cool if you ask me.

I'm pretty sure the Concept eventually turned into the Performer series PS3 and PS3T (trem version).

Yes they did. I had a jrr94 concept years ago. Nice solid guitars they are and Japanese IIRC.
I feel festive all year round. Deal with it.

As those pictures are taken from Dave's website (fretsonthenet), why don't you just asks him?

If Ford announced a new concept car and bought out an old Escort, it's not a concept.
                  Same applies, nothing new here.

Ummmm, it was called the "concept" series, they weren't pushing these guitars as a new concept.
Does the USA select series have to be selected in the USA? Or can bedroom guitarists own professionals?

I think that it was a cheaper Japaneses or Korean make. Something like the performer series.

Sort of... the Concept series was only released for 1 year in 1994.
The following year they were renamed to the Performer series.
All the Concept guitars were made in Japan.

This guitar pictured is nothing more than a JRR94 that has been decked out with better hardware.
It's still a bolt on neck Rhoads.

                              I had a JRR94 concept.

I like neck through RRs better, concepts are made in Japan as said earlier.

I didn't like the output jack location (lower horn) as compared to the neck through RRs (upper horn).

                              Great Japanese Jacksons though....
