i guess i understand, but if you're getting something in return for it, what difference does it make what it being done with the money you gave? i'd be more concerned with feeling like i got my money's worth. if you feel like you get your money's worth, who cares if it gets spent on someone's knitting habit?

on the other hand, shawn has had a great point the entire time of this debate; it's twenty bucks (or less if you got in sooner).

if its any consolation, i know that jeremy has a lot of ideas for the subscription stuff. it's no secret that i was not a fan of the idea (i've posted as much), but there are a lot of things that he wants to do. do i think that all of those things should have been ready to go before any of this was started? certainly. but i think that eventually, things will work out.

I think a lot of people (me included) just like to see whats being done with their money before giving it. Its kind of like giving to a charity but not knowing what you're supporting.

Do you have to justify every dollar you earn and how you spend it (Wife doesn't count)? Do you question every business you go in and ask how they reinvest their profits? We are not requiring you to pay for anything. The only difference if you do not pay here is the classifieds, and for more the majority, the changes are beneficial. I could have put a donation box up, but I'd like to give something extra for those who want to pay. Wouldn't you rather get something for your money than something you can just get for free? If you want to just give me your money, feel free haha. If you don't like it, don't upgrade, I don't care, I'm not going to hold a grudge. For many, I don't think that it will be worth it to them. For those who it is, I wanted to provide that for them.

Yes, you are. I'm not sure what all is available, but hopefully it's more than the ability to stick some lame brain "handle" under your name and the use of The Classifieds. And yes, I do ask what my money is being spent on. Hell, I piss off over $20 a week in Diet Cokes, but at least I know what I'm getting. I asked a very easy, civil question earlier and I'd still like an answer. Why does this site need Photoshop, Dreamweaver, etc, etc? What was so terribly wrong with old classified section that it needed upgrading?
