If posts are only allowed that have 'value' then you've got a lot more thread deleting to do. Shouldn't there be a jury of folks to decide when threads get deleted, kinda like the banning thing?

Actually, that gives me an idea. Here's another revenue stream: The Thread Resurrection. For a nominal fee, threads can be restored after banning.

Voted banning are for paid members. Allowing a thread that is filled with ignorant ramblings that shows no sign of stopping is counter productive, which is why this one will be soon bite the dust like so many others that have been started with the same goal in mind.

Honestly, I am offended you pulled that thread, and before you go on a banning spree, take one thing into account. I wasted my fucking time defending your much maligned donation program. I dont give away time freely as I have alot better things to do.

If I have posted three or four times within 10 minutes, on one thread, it was meant to be helpful,insightful and from the heart.

Then you decide that MY opinions have no value.

Just yanking a thread because you feel it has no value is ridiculous. It smacks of socialism. It sucks.

Mmm. I've been down this road before as an admin... you can never please everyone, and when you try to keep things on par, it always rips on the wrong people.

Censorship is bad, yeah... we deal with it so much in our everyday lives that most of us ignore it on the surface. Until it is a blatant red X staring us down, then defense mode comes into play.

I can see how the thread was just pages of the same shit, over and over again... not really going anywhere. It's sad that the good posts where in the minority... the ones with meaning behind their words, and when you kill a thread for 90% of the posts, 10% of the strong ones becomes causalities.

I dunno what was said at the end of the thread, but it was probably the same thing said throughout it all, only worded in a slightly different fashion. Maybe if it was kept on a pure debate level, with no hot-headedness it'd go over easier on the admins eyes. (Hell, I'm fucking horrible for that, but I guess it works in some cases)

I really felt it did have value. It wasnt a one-way bash or pile on. It was a discussion that presented different dissenting opinions. If you went through and deleted all the posts that had no "value" you'd be tied up until your thirty years old.

If you are going to have a "pay or dont pay"type board, you cant possibly expect noone to comment on the virtues of both sides.

Personally, I donated because I think I benefitted here. I didnt donate for you, I did it for me, I saw value received over the years. I really didnt pay for the classifieds, I paid for the use and joy i've seen over the years. The classifieds here for the most part is tire kicker central. You should know that better than anyone, seeing as you couldnt(yet) sell your JCF01 on the JCF.

But some wont. Some cant. Some can but wont. Some should but wont.

Opinions are guaranteed.

Brilliantly stated. This is exactly why the paid membership is offered. And this is why the core of the site, its members and their knowledge, have remained free. I'm not holding out my hand asking for money. Knowing this site, if I asked for donations I would have probably made more money. I never have claimed the JCF classifieds were the greatest place to sell a guitar, it is merely an added bonus to those who wanted to pay and upgraded them to include some extra features for every one to enjoy. If you like it, great, if not, sorry. If you want to pay, fine, if not, thats good too, enjoy the place, thats why its here.
