  • Help ID'ing my Guitar

    Hey All,

New to the site so firstly hello to all. I'm posting because I'm sure some of you will be able to help me out. Just recently picked up this guitar, and was wondering if anyone could help me out and let me know the exact model this is. It's my first Jackson, but already lovin' how it plays. But again thanks in advance for any and all help. Here it is.

    Thanks again

I was going to say the same thing. The placement of the vol/tone knobs is wrong. Also a bound body? But I may be wrong.

Not a DK2 neck. Wrong direction on the headstock.
The pics aren't the best, but it looks like the headstock shape is a little off too. I'd say it's a fake altogether.

Pics of the back of the guitar will help a lot. I'm also leaning toward it not being a Jackson body. Besides the knob placement, the trem rout doesn't look like it follows the angle of the baseplate.

That body doesn't look that similar plus the controls are in different locations.
Takeoffs are optional but landings are mandatory.

Not a Jackson neck. The low E on a reverse head is angled upwards, not straight, and the high E is straight, not angled like that.

Plus the end of the head doesn't slope enough.

Glad you like it, but it wasn't made by Jackson.

Take off the neck and see what's on the heel and pocket.

Again thanks for all the feedback. The guy I bought the guitar off of is seeming really shady and thats the reason I posted it on this site is because I was having my doubts about it. Granted I don't know alot about jackson, however I can spot when things have been change. Any I'll have a few more pics up in a bit, plus wheres the best spot to look for a serial #?

                          Thanks again

Serial # would be on the neck plate.

Ok so here are some pictures I just took. While looking at it last night I did notice that the neck wasn't really sitting in the pocket correctly, which kind of got the wheels to start turning on this. I unbolted the neck and to me it looks like someone sanded the end of the neck to make it compatible with the pocket. I have posted a pic of this, just to see if I'm correct about this. Tuners say Jackson, and the logo on the headstock isnt straight, so again another flag. But let me know and keep the information going. I paid for a Jackson and want a Jackson, so the more info I can compile against the seller the better. Heres the pics:

                              Thanks again
