I started building a new guitar around a Jackson neck I got off E-Bay. It's a 22 fret, 25.5 inch scale. The body I'm working on is sort of a cross between a Mockingbird and a Warlock. I know it sounds odd, but wait till you see it. It's balanced perfectly and is even easy to play while sitting. Anyway, my point is, the original body I built is solid maple, and obviously it's heavy and very bright. I'm seriously considering scrapping it and starting a new body with a maple centre section, mahogany wings, and possibly a figured maple cap. It should give me a thicker, heavier sound (which is really what I'm looking for)
Opinions please.
