Aside from the lack of updates, I really like how the Jackson website is put together. It wouldn't hurt them to update once in a while though!

So while they evoke the look of some of the late '60's cars, in particular the '69 with the headlight arrangement on the new GT's, they aren't a re-issue. Certainly, the designers have said that they tried to evoke elements of the classic design but they also wanted to produce a new design that would stand the test of time.

To me, that's a hell of a lot better endorsement than what Ibanez does in having some super-secret California shop that makes the nice guitars for the endorsers, which kinda sorta resemble the middling instruments you and I can buy at the local Guitar Center.
And ESP? What's so special about having 5,000 tacky "artist" variations on the same old Horizon and Mirage models? They make nice guitars in their Japanese plants and always have. No need for the tackiness.Last edited by pro-fusion; 05-09-2008, 07:33 AM.

Takeoffs are optional but landings are mandatory.

There's a new site in the works and it's coming together REAL nice! Re: Mustaine, he did fall asleep with his arm over the back of a chair in rehab and as a result experienced temporary damage to his hands. For the record, the guys at Jackson still respect Dave for what he brought to metal and his part in the history of Jackson guitars. He's the reason I started playing Jackson guitars!\oo/. .\oo/ @ www.jacksonguitars.com

And no, we don't pay people to endorse our guitars. Randy Rhoads paid for his guitars and until somebody better than him comes along it's the way we intend to run the business.\oo/. .\oo/ @ www.jacksonguitars.com

Regarding Mustaine, I know the story is that he hurt his arm and had to relearn the guitar, but he sounds exactly the same now as he ever did which seems odd considering he had to relearn it.
I don't know what the truth is to what that other guy posted though about him slitting his wrists. First time I ever heard that rumour.

It's good they got that guy from Bullet (I think they're a shitty kid on metal band but it's a good endorsee for people who like that kind of music). I just think they need to focus on the respected extreme metal bands.
slammin pace of BFMV? But you love Jethro Tull? Hey, to each his own
(and i like Jethro Tull too) but Bullet Rips imo!

Kill the imports. All of 'em. Unless they are willing to dial up the CNC tolerances like the 88ish-92ish Japan models - kill 'em. Want an import? Import it yourself (Stars, etc.).
Seriously.
When I started digging J/C's in the mid-80's it wasn't because of Eddie, Randy, and Dave. It was because they were the best playing axes on Earth. The only company at the time who could touch the fretwork was Hamer. They also cost 2-3X as much (list) as a LP Custom - 4-5x as much as a Strat.
And they flew off the racks. Gibson began increasing pricing to increase the 'perceived' value, Fender followed suit. Same axes, inflated pricing. Even today, the J/C CS is backlogged 6-12 months if you don't factor the warehousing issues.
Ibby/ESP/Schecter own the entry-level market - let 'em have it. Give us back the 'someday I WILL own one!' mystique.
"Let them eat Deans."
lol...750xl, 88LE, AT1, Roswell Pro, SG-X, 4 others...
Stilletto Duece 1/2 Stack, MkIII Mini-Stack, J-Station, 12 spaces of misc rack stuff, Sonar 4, Event 20/20, misc outboard stuff...
Why do I still want MORE?

BFMV are nothing close to that. They're, from what I've heard, a modern melodic metal band. Even the name conjures up images of self harming Goth teenage girls.
I'm not all about how heavy a band is, I'm about how good the songs are. Ian Anderson has written some of the best songs ever. BFMV are a fad that will last a short while, like Trivium, then die because their fanbase find old Iron Maiden, Megadeth, Pantera and Judas Priest albums. No doubt they'll then move on to the good really heavy stuff like Nile.
