Chainsaw case question

I don't have one but I will especulate about a possible solution:

If the rivets go into the plastic and nothing else then they will come off very easy. Remove the rivets taht are there right now and put a small metal plate in the inside of the case at the position of the latch. Drill the holes for the rivets through this plate and install the rivets again...

Does that make any sense?...

Chainsaw case question

Since just about every one of the old grey chainsaw style cases seems to have at least one latch broken, I was wondering if anyone had a good repair solution for this problem.
